1919

La Carimali was set up in Milan.

The first Carimali workshop was established by Angelo Carimali and was located in 19 Ripa Ticinese Street.

After the end of the First World War, when he was 31, Mr. Carimali decided to start his own business, which at the beginning was made up of a staff of 10 people.

The first coffee machines are fitted with 12 to 50 liter vertical boilers.

1932

The company moved to 84 Giambellino Street, Milano.

Carimali produces the first coffee machines having vertical boilers and gas heating

The net price of the first machine amounted to L. 2.050, as shown in this historic invoice.

1940

Carimali develops its first horizontal Liberty-style machines.

Coffee was brewed with water coming from the steam boiler, and pressure was kept at around 2 Atm.

From a simple workshop, Carimali became a real corporation.

1943

The company kept growing and moved to 320 Forze Armate Street in Milan. In 1945 Athos Carimali, Angelo's son, came back from war and took over the management of the company.

Athos Carimali gave the first impetus to the production and trade of such new equipment as the coffee machine, still unknown in the whole world.

At the end of the 40's employees and workers were about 60.

1950

It is the time of lever machines and espresso as we know it today.

The pressure of the brewing water, sucked in from the boiler, exceeds 8 Atm.

Espresso is now covered with a layer of cream on top.

The company sells more and more coffee machines abroad and widens its product range offering different models on the market.

1960

At that time machines are equipped with pump and pressure switch. Coffee is heated by means of a heat exchanger so that water can be regenerated cup by cup.

In 1965 the model Vega was developed, one of the first super automatic machines launched on the market having a 3 liter coffee boiler and 3.000 Watt power.

Carimali is one of the first companies in the world that believes and concentrates its efforts on super automatic machines.

1970

The company moved to Valbrembo (Bergamo).

Carimali brings out the traditional machine Selene 71 and the automatic models Orion and group C and C+S.

At the time the company widens its range offering a series of ancillary equipment such as grinders, choco dispenser and small grill ovens.

1980

Traditional Systema machines are launched on the market. The pump is moved from under the counter and placed inside the machine. Systema will become one of Carimali best seller and most well-known coffee machine all over the world.

Around the end of the 80’s Carimali patents the first “S” automatic group, which gives the name to a new line of super automatic machines.

In1982 the compnay moved first to Dalmine and eventually to Ponte San Pietro (Bergamo).

1990

Carimali concentrates its efforts in super automatic machines investing in R&D to bring in technological innovations.

The company launches the new “F” Family super automatic models, available with one or two groups and one and/or two grinders, complete with automatic milk frother to prepare any kind of drink simply at the touch of a button.

1993

The company moved to Chignolo d'Isola, where the offices and the modern manufacturing premises are currently located and covers an area of 6.000 m2

Macco brand was also created to cater for the most demanding customers' needs in terms of super automatic coffee machines and components.

2000

Carimali and Macco coffee machines are distribuited all over the world.

The company exports more than 95% of its products.

Eta Beta, Tema Style, Kicco e Espresso 9 traditional machines are launched on the market.

Among super automatic machines Multi, Mega and Micra models are met with great success in international markets.

At the end of the decade Armonia and MX-3 are launched on the market.

2010

Nowadays Carimali is one of the world leader in the coffee machines industry.

State-of-the art products with a modern and innovative design are constantly developed.

In 2010 Carimali launched the new super automatics Optima, MX-5 and Armonia Touch.
